Welcome...
Hello, Bonjour, Salut, and welcome once more to The Cricketers Home-page. Our focus, as a food house, is to bring you lovely French classic dishes and serve them in the friendliest environment and accompanied by good english ale. The Cricketers will be at the heart of the community - that is our number one target. Set in stunning surroundings on Hartley Wintney's Cricket Green, the oldest, continuous cricket green in the country (probably the world!), with locals using the green for recreation such as a game of Cricket since 1770!! Glorious oak's frame the view of the green from our frontage, and with the days growing longer and the tree's beginning to blossom, it really is a feast for the eyes.
Champagne Fridays!! Heavily Discounted Champagne from 4pm every Friday throughout the Summer- Come along and enjoy a night on the Fizz without burning a whole in your wallet! Moutard Cuvee Prestige, Moutard Rose, Lanson & Ruinart!
Welcoming St Austell's Tribute to the bar, A light citrusy Ale, perfect for the summer thirst quencher! Definitly my choice of beverage at my bar.
Our Chef, Helene, and her assistant Stephane are cooking some classic seasonal dishes from France - Stephane is a wonderful pastry chef so come and try our constantly changing desserts
We have an Extensive wine list (over 60 references!!) to complement our menus, which we hope will extend our representation of regional wines and we have now sourced our own Cuvee de L'auberge - two fabulous wines from the Languedoc and the Herault.
The cricket season is in full swing and what better way to enjoy the sound and sight of leather on willow than with a drink in hand. We are delighted with our longstanding association with Hartley Wintney Cricket Club

We have always tried to capture the essence of France in the photographic artwork at our auberges. John Brunton has been a photojournalist for almost 30 years and specialising in food and restaurants and he has provided us with these images since the very inception of the auberges . He is located in Paris and Venice. You can see more of his images on the his web site.
